Description of Fody's Layered Low FODMAP Taco Dip

This dip is a Tex-Mex fiesta in a bowl! With Fody Low FODMAP Taco Seasoning and Fody Low FODMAP Taco Sauce, you know it is going to be flavor packed. All your favorite Tex-Mex ingredients are here in this low FODMAP dip from tomatoes to olives, sour cream and avocado.

Avocado is low FODMAP in 30-gram portions, so don’t worry! You can enjoy avocado while on the low FODMAP diet. The portions are important, which is why I call for a specific weight of avocado in the ingredients. Two average sized Hass avocados (about 8-ounces/225 g) each) will give you the amount that you need. So buy at least 2 avocados and one extra if you want to be sure to have what you need.

This low FODMAP recipe is quick to make and is best served right after preparing, so plan accordingly.

The BIG issue here is willpower. As with any dip, it is all too easy to eat some, go back and eat some more and then repeat the actions several times and before you know it, you have eaten way more than you intended and than maybe you should have. Watch your low FODMAP serving sizes!

Fody's Layered Low FODMAP Taco Dip Ingredients

  • 11.5-ounces (325 g) avocado flesh, cut into chunks
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice
  • 1/2 cup (120 g) lactose-free sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon Fody Low FODMAP Taco Seasoning
  • 2 medium beefsteak tomatoes, cored and sliced in half crosswise
  • 2 teaspoons Fody Low FODMAP Taco Sauce
  • 3-ounces (85 g) shredded cheddar
  • 2 tablespoons sliced canned and drained black olives
  • Your choice of low FODMAP snack foods, such as corn chips, vegetables, etc.

Directions for Fody's Layered Low FODMAP Taco Dip

Place the avocado in a mixing bowl and add lime juice. Use a fork to mash and combine. Stir in the lactose-free sour cream and Fody Taco Seasoning; set aside.

Squeeze the tomatoes over the sink, discarding excess liquid and seeds (you want the tomatoes as dry as possible). Chop the tomato flesh, place in a small bowl and stir in the Fody Taco Sauce.

Scrape the creamy avocado base into a clear serving bowl, creating a neat, even layer. Top with the seasoned chopped tomatoes, then top with cheese and olives and serve immediately with corn chips or other low FODMAP snacks.
